GARDENING & FARMING:
Marra Farm - A farm in South Park (Seattle area) generating 13,000 pounds of organic produce!
Growing Power - An amazing inner city gardening program in Wisconsin (maybe too far to visit, but a great website to inspire us). A 2 acre farm in the middle of the city selling inexpensive produce and donating to food banks, etc.
The Whidbey Institute - A non-profit that offers education to serve the earth, spirit and human future. They have a volunteer run garden and workshops all year long offering gardening education. They have work parties for new gardening volunteers from 1-4pm every Friday.
